Travel and accommodation suggestions

Location: Merton Evangelical Church building is on the corner of Nelson Grove Road and Rodney Place about 400m from South Wimbledon underground station on the Northern Line, one stop short of its southern terminus at Morden. Turn right out of the station entrance and walk about 200m east along Merton High Street and turn right down Pincott Road and after about 100m turn left into Nelson Grove Road. The MEC building is on the right after about 50m. The entrance is at the side down Rodney Place.

From Wimbledon mainline/District Line station: bus numbers 57, 93 and 131 run from outside the station (turn left out of station entrance). The buses 57 and 131 turn left into Merton High Street where you should get off at the first stop, cross the road and follow the directions above into Pincott Road. On the 93 get off just passed the South Wimbledon Tube station cross roads and walk back to tube station, following directions above from the Tube.

From Raynes Park train station: Buses 152, 57, 13 run to South Wimbledon; get off near to South Wimbledon tube station and follow directions above.

By Car: parking is very limited in the vicinity of the MEC building but there are some possibilities:

• Sainsbury’s car park – free for 4 hours (Access on Merantun Way)

• Abbey Mills car park - 2 hours free (Access on Merantun Way, green button for a ticket)

• Priory Retail park – 2 hours free (Access from Merton High Street)

The recommended route is around the M25 to Junction10 and then the A3 towards Kingston/Central London. Leave the A3 at the Shannon Corner junction and take the 2nd left exit on to the A298 towards Wimbledon (care needed here as it is easy to miss). Follow the A298 to the junction with Merton Road which has South Wimbledon tube station on its south-east corner. 200m past this junction turn right into Pincott Road and follow directions above.

Hotels: it is advised that you use a web-site such as www.booking.com and search for hotels near to the church’s post-code. Expect hotels to be busy and book as early as possible or you may have to rely on late cancellations.

Pastor Qazi has block reserved 10 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express (Wimbledon South) for Friday May 4th and Saturday May 5th. The hotel is situated directly opposite Colliers Wood Tube Station.
